Extra Help with Example Hadron Number 1

We can see that this particle is a hadron because:
  1. The momentum of the observed charged particle track is somewhere between 2 and 4 GeV. (We can tell this because the track is drawn in dark blue.) The energy observed where the particle track strikes the electromagnetic calorimeter is somewhere between 0.5 and 1 GeV. (We can tell this because the cluster of energy is drawn in yellow.) The momentum of the observed charged particle track is therefore larger than the energy observed where it strikes the electromagnetic calorimeter.
  2. There are no signals produced in the muon chambers.
  3. An energy deposit is visible in the hadronic calorimeter.
